Blockchain technology has the potential to change the way medicine is practiced and investigated by transforming healthcare systems from fragmented to smart, interconnected and automated.

Here we present the first medical blockchain that provides a way to share lab data. We envision it being used in the laboratory and hospital setting, not only as a way to share information but also authenticate, secure and track procedures and related results.

Our POC:

LaDaFo is a proof of concept to assess the development of a medical lab data in the blockchain.

The idea is based on the creation of Medical Laboratory Database (MLDB) which is a decentralized and public digital ledger storing patient health information and clinical data.

Algorithms for healthcare AI are an emerging science. This project aims to assess whether a blockchain could facilitate the flow of data from laboratories to hospitals, and establish anonymised trails of real patient files.

LaDaFo was developed in order to assess the development of a medical lab data in the blockchain. The aim is to overcome scalability problems, increase transparency and enhance privacy.
